I have a question....

So I've been thinking. I love doing designing blogs, I usually design them a lot better for other people than I do for my own blog. It's hard to find a custom layout unless you have a lot of money. I see a lot of AMAZING designers out there and their work is beautiful and amazing, but it's so expensive! I go on designer's websites sometimes and I just swoon over all the beautiful designs and wish I could purchase one, which I can't. Sadly. We're on a bit of a tight budget right now.

I've wanted to be able to make a website for blog designing for some time to offer cheap blog designs in order to make some extra cash, but I'm still learning and I don't have any fancy programs like Photoshop or Dreamweaver. (I want them so bad!)

So I was just thinking. Maybe I can offer up layouts for a trade? I can make custom layouts in the best way I can that suits your vision, for a trade? Like books? I love books. =D I haven't been able to buy any lately either because of our tight budget, which makes me truly sad.

So I'm thinking how it would work if I were to do this is anyone who wanted a layout could fill out a form or something and tell me what they'd like and stuff. Like a pattern, colors, columns, a custom header with it and stuff like that, and I would make it the best I can and see what they thought, and however much they loved it and were willing to trade we could make an offer. =D

So, what does everyone think? Is this fair? A good idea? Let me know. =)

  1. I know a lot of people who would like a simple custom layout but can't afford it, so your idea might work. Do you have examples? Did you do your own layout?

  2. I think it's a great idea. Would you be doing graphics, illustrated pictures for headers and things like some blogs? I always love those. They say they come from kits? I've been wanting a custom design for awhile too, but no one does them for Tumblr. Most people just use it to post random pictures and stuff, but I'm using it as an actual book blog. People sometimes tell me they didn't even realize it is a Tumblr. I just wish designs were available for us too. But showing examples of your past work is a great way to start so people can get a sense of your style!
