Yes, I know what you're thinking. "She's participating in another read-a-thon?!" Yes, yes I am. I'm addicted, you see. I can't help but join them once I see them. Sometimes I don't get as much reading done as I'd hoped, but it sure does give me that little extra shove I need ever once in a while. So if you know anymore read-a-thons coming up, do tell me! Anyway, on to my goals!

I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get done within these days, but I'm going to try and at least finish 2 to 3 books.

Started: Darkness Becomes Her, by Kelly Keaton & Winter's Passage, by Julie Kagawa (Iron Fey Novella, 1.5)

Summary: I started reading Darkness Becomes Her before I went to bed around 2am, but I was super tired so I didn't read much. Didn't get to read much during the day as well, hopefully tomorrow will be much better! 

6/21:
Started: None so far, just finished the last 203 pages of Darkness Becomes Her, and the last 78% of Winter's Passage.

Summary: I finished the novella first today and then worked on Darkness Becomes Her. I didn't have MUCH reading time, but I tried my best throughout the day and then finished the last 100 pages after my son went to bed before I got online. I told myself I couldn't get online until I finished. 

6/22:
Started: The Forest of Hands and Teeth, by Carrie Ryan

Summary: I started The Forest of Hands and Teeth today and I'm so glad I got into it! The first time I tried to read it was last year, I think, and I couldn't get into it. I'm reading it on my Kindle now and it's pretty good. I didn't get much reading time today, but I did read 28% of the book. =) I didn't feel like doing any of the challenges today, so I didn't. 

6/23:

Summary: All I WANTED to do today was read, but I couldn't. But I did get enough reading time in to finish The Forest of Hands and Teeth. I'm so glad I was able to get into it this time. It was so good and suspenseful! My heart was constantly threatening to beat out of my chest. One more day! 

6/24:

Summary: I didn't get much reading done today as I was cleaning. I didn't meet my read-a-thon goals, but I'm still proud of myself!  I read two of the three books I had on my list, plus a 49 page novella and I was at least reading my third book. =D So I had a lot of fun overall!

End of 2011 Read-a-Thon: Friday Updates

How many books did you finish for the read-a-thon? Which one was your favorite?

I only finished two whole books. That is not including the book I finished that I had already started reading before the read-a-thon. I finished Tempest Rising, by Tracy Deebs, which is the book I started before the challenge. I only counted the pages that I read during the challenge. And then I read two whole books, which were It's Not Summer Without You, by Jenny Han, and then We'll Always Have Summer, by Jenny Han. And then I read 28 pages of Desires of the Dead, by Kimberly Derting. 

My favorite book of all the books has to be We'll Always Have Summer. I'll have my review up soon.

Well, that's the end of the End of 2011 Read-a-Thon. I'm kind of sad because I didn't get as many books as I'd like to of gotten done, but at least I got two done! More in one week than I have been reading the last couple of weeks. And I did start on my third book, just didn't finish it. It's funny how my reading pile changed with my mood and stuff from the list I had. I hope everyone else had a great time and met their goals!

2012 YA Contemporary Reading Challenge, hosted by Katie @ Katie's Book Blog & Angela @ Reading AngelI love YA Contemporary, and I've been trying to read more of it. But lately all I've been reading are Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romances. It's refreshing to throw in a lot of Contemporary here and there. Going to definitely try harder this year to work more in.
The best of all, a lot of these challenges can cross! So one book can count in multiple challenges! Reading Challenges are so fun and really helps with your TBR list.

Yes, this series kicked me into gear! I finished It's Not Summer Without You and then started and finished the third and final installment to the Summer series, by Jenny Han. I'm so sad it's ended. =( But it was beautiful! Hopefully I can work at least one more book in.

I'm still not doing too great, but I finally got into a book. I'm currently read (And almost finished with.) It's Not Summer Without You, by Jenny Han. Hopefully it'll kick my butt into gear when I finish it. I'm most likely going to read the third and final book in the Summer series when I'm done with the second one, which I'm currently on. Hope everyone is doing better than me! Hopefully I'll be finish with this book. Going to try and finish it tonight!

Horror: Okay, this isn't really horror. It's more of a thriller maybe. But I had to add it. This book kind of freaked me out a little. It was just like wow! Choker, by Elizabeth Woods
Mystery: Okay, can't choose. So I'm going to have to say the first four Pretty Little Liars books by Sara Shepard and The Body Finder, by Kimberly Derting.

Wow, I'm really seriously failing at this. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm randomly back into a reading slump. I can't figure out what I want to read. I have a great pile of books here that I've been dying to read, and I just can't figure out which one. 

 I read 60 something pages of The Carrie Diaries today, but for some reason I can't fully get into it. So I went to Fateful, by Claudia Gray thinking that would speed things up because I've been dying for that one. But I only read a few pages and then didn't feel like reading. What is wrong with me?!

So now I'm trying to choose whether to go back to The Carrie Diaries, by Candace Bushnell, or continue reading Fateful, by Claudia Gray. Or just trying to read It's Not Summer Without You, by Jenny Han, or The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, by Michelle Hodkin. OR reading Desires of the Dead, by Kimberly Derting. This is very aggravating. Any thoughts?
