In My Mailbox #8

A weekly meme hosted by Kristi @ the Story Siren.

Okay, so this week was a pretty big one. :) I decided to bring a box of books that I didn't want to a local used bookstore that I am in love with called Chamblin's Bookmine, and they picked through them to see which ones they would take and I got $45 in book credit to spend their. And I already had $5 still on my account from the last time I was able to go over a year ago! I  plan to go there from now on to get my books, or trade my books that I don't want. I don't like getting rid of books, even ones that I don't want. But it would be better to trade in the ones I don't want for ones I do!

But anyway, here are my finds at the Bookmine. This place is AMAZING! I was only able to find one of the YA shelves because the place is SO freaking huge. You seriously get lost in this place. So many rooms, and so many shelves.  Here is a picture I found online of part of it. Just to give you an idea.
Chamblin bookmine

Okay, NOW here is my finds from the Bookmine:

I got books 6 through 8 of the Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine. I already own books 1 through 5, so I am trying to catch up with the series. I would of gotten book 9 too, but I'm going to wait until it's in mass market paperback first.
Carpe Corpus by Rachel Caine
The Morganville Vampires, book #6
Release Date: June 2, 2009
Interests: I've read books 1-6 of the Morganville Vampires and have loved all of them. So naturally I needed to get the 6th book to continue the series.

In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace-until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He's kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants-the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?

Fade Out by Rachel Caine
The Morganville Vampires, book #7
Release Date: November 3, 2009

Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again...
Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve's castmates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger-and way more dangerous-than anyone suspected.

Kiss of Death by Rachel Caine
The Morganville Vampires, book #8
Release Date: April 27, 2010

Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell...

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
The Mortal Instruments, book #1
Release Date: March 27, 2007
Interests: I read and loved this book. I owned a copy before, but I needed to get another because I let a friend borrow it. I still need to read the second book, which I own too!

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

Books for Review:
Stay by Deb Caletti
Release Date: April 5, 2011
Interests: I didn't know this was coming, but I've seen this book around a lot and have had it on my to-be-read/wish list on Goodreads for a while now. Once I opened the package and saw this, I did a happy dance.

Clara’s relationship with Christian is intense from the start, and like nothing she’s ever experienced before. But what starts as devotion quickly becomes obsession, and it’s almost too late before Clara realizes how far gone Christian is—and what he’s willing to do to make her stay.
Now Clara has left the city—and Christian—behind. No one back home has any idea where she is, but she still struggles to shake off her fear. She knows Christian won’t let her go that easily, and that no matter how far she runs, it may not be far enough....
Between Here and Forever by Elizabeth Scott
Release Date: May 24th, 2011
Interests: This is another book I wasn't expecting to come and I am so happy it did. It was in with Stay. So they both got a very big happy dance, ha ha. This book sounds so good and I've seen it around everywhere basically.

Abby accepted that she can’t measure up to her beautiful, magnetic sister Tess a long time ago, and knows exactly what she is: Second best. Invisible.
Until the accident.
Now Tess is in a coma, and Abby’s life is on hold. It may have been hard living with Tess, but it's nothing compared to living without her.
She's got a plan to bring Tess back though, involving the gorgeous and mysterious Eli, but then Abby learns something about Tess, something that was always there, but that she’d never seen.
Abby is about to find out that truth isn't always what you think it is, and that life holds more than she ever thought it could...

Special thanks goes to Simon & Schuster for sending me these books to review for my honest opinion.
