Blog Tour: My Vampire Summer Excerpt, by Elle Casey

Hi, guys. Today I'm participating in a blog tour hosted by What's Your Story Book Tours. I'll be sharing an excerpt from Elle Casey's eBook My Vampire Summer. Sadly, it's only sold as an eBook. I don't have an eReader currently, but hopefully next month I will have one and I know one book that will definitely be hitting my eReader shelves!

(Vampire Seasons, #1)
Publisher: Self-published
Release Date: March 23, 2012
My Vampire Summer, a novella, the first novella in a series of four ... Reserved bookworm Iona Candella and her best friend, wildchild Cheri Blake, are spending the summer before college in a small medieval town in France. Iona plans to spend the time reading 100 books on her Kindle and Cheri plans to spend it interfering in Iona's book reading/hibernation plan and finding gorgeous French boyfriends to help them pass the time instead. Both of them get more than they bargained for or even imagined. Ancient curses, haunted castle ruins, crypts protected by supernatural serpents. My Vampire Summer is a veritable YA Fantasy banquet, all in a novella-sized package.

Excerpt
My mom dropped the bomb on me at dinner, much to Cheri’s delight.“Honey, it will be amazing, I promise.”I sat there, my fork floating in midair, halfway to my mouth with a bit of roast beef on it. “You’ve got to be kidding me. How could an entire summer in the middle of nowhere, France possibly be amazing?”Cheri jumped in, giving my mom a serious nod. “Let me handle this, Mrs. C.” Then she turned her whole upper body to face me. “Do you have any idea how jealous I am of you right now? Holy macaroni, you’re going to France! All summer! Who gets to do that… other than Paris Hilton, I mean?”“It’s not what I want to do, though. I had plans for this summer.”My mom raised her eyebrow at me. “Well, you’re just going to have to change your plans.”Cheri scoffed at me. “Right. What plans? Reading your stupid Kindle all day? Hiding in your room? Wearing your pajamas until two o’clock everyday? Those aren’t plans. That’s hibernation.”
