Past, Present, & Future #18

Past, Present, & Future Reading Pile is a  feature on my blog where I do a post every Sunday to keep track of the books I've read the week before, what I'm currently reading and which books I hope to start and finish during that week.
The Past
Release Date: May 8, 2012
Like his name, Gray is dark and stormy. Dylan, a girl always searching for what’s next, seemingly unable to settle down, is the exact opposite: full of light and life. On the outside, they seem like an unlikely couple. But looks can be deceiving and besides, opposites attract.
What starts as friendship, turns into admiration, respect and caring, until finally these two lone souls find they are truly in love with each other.
But staying in love is not as easy as falling in love. If Dylan and Gray want their love to last, they’re going to have to work at it. And learn that sometimes love means having to say you’re sorry.
I love this book. I definitely recommend it. You can find my review here.

The Present
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Release Date: July 12, 2011
In Maggie Stiefvater's SHIVER, Grace and Sam found each other. In LINGER, they fought to be together. Now, in FOREVER, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.
I've been dying to read Forever since they said trilogy. I adore this series SO much. It's unique and very intriguing and heart-warming.  I'll be starting this today.

Thanks to my good friend Jackie for helping me chose this off my TBR list to read. I've had this for a while and have been dying to read it, but haven't gotten to it until now. =) She convinced me to read it, since it's been long enough!

The Future
Publisher: HarperCollins
Release Date: April 17, 2012
In the end, all that's left is an echo...
Violet kept her morbid ability to sense dead bodies a secret from everyone except her family and her childhood-best-friend-turned-boyfriend, Jay Heaton. That is until forensic psychologist Sara Priest discovered Violet's talent and invited her to use her gift to track down murderers. Now, as she works with an eclectic group of individuals—including mysterious and dangerously attractive Rafe—it's Violet's job to help those who have been murdered by bringing their killers to justice. When Violet discovers the body of a college girl killed by "the girlfriend collector" she is determined to solve the case. But now the serial killer is on the lookout for a new "relationship" and Violet may have caught his eye....
I told myself that I couldn't read The Last Echo until after I read Forever, since I've had Forever for a long time and haven't gotten around to it. I have a short list of books off my TBR list that I am trying to get around to ASAP and this was another one off that list. I used Random.org and it picked this one! So I was all, hey, that worked out! Can't wait to get to this! Maybe this is what I need to get back into the groove of reading; reading two books from series I love in a row! My last four books were review books, these are just because I want to read them!

What are your past, present, and future reads?

  1. Haha, I use random.org sometimes to choose books for me too. :D I didn't really like the Shiver trilogy as much as everyone else, but I hope you like it. :)
I just got through reading Divergent, and obviously loved it. Now I'm reding Sweet Evil, and then I'll be reading Insurgent. Great post! :)

    1. People think I'm strange all the time because I use random.org to help me sometimes, but I have such a HUGE reading list and there are so many great books in my TBR pile and I just don't know where to start.

I LOVE the trilogy, I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it as much. Everyone has different tastes though! I'm loving FOREVER so far, it's a bit weird though because its different from the last two. But it's so beautifully written!

This is really what I need to kick me in the butt again in reading, I've been in a bit of a slump lately. Only reading about a book a week!

I haven't read Divergent yet, but I've been DYING to read them, along with Sweet Evil. I hope you're liking Sweet Evil!

      Happy reading!
