Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach?It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started--at Cousins Beach.

Wow. That's all I can say right now about this book. I loved it. The beginning made me really happy and then something got thrown out at me and I literally dropped the book. I couldn't believe it. It made me terribly sad. I'm not going to go into detail because I don't want to spoil anything, but oh my God.  My heart really broke when I read that first line about it. 

This book was a lot different than the first. Which took some time to getting used to.  It was amazing though. Before picking this book up, I was saving it. I was saving it to read and then read the third and final book right after it. But after picking up several books and failing to read them during my Read-a-Thon, I knew I had to pick this up. Even though the books I had started and put down were books I was looking forward to reading. And it's not the books, it's just the complete rut I was in. I wanted to read, but just...couldn't. But wow, this really yanked me out of it! 


Belly has done a lot of growing up. A LOT. And so had Conrad, Jeremiah, and even Steven. How can you not with what happened? My heart goes out to them. There were a couple of small chapters in this book that was in Jeremiah's point-of-view, which I loved. I was glad to get into his head and wonder what was going on inside there. 


Overall, I can't say much more about this. I love this series. It's very well written and beautiful. If you haven't read it yet, do it soon. You won't be sorry.

I really, really liked this book. It was fun to read and very refreshing. I was hooked from the very beginning with Tempest's mother's letter. It was very intriguing! I wanted to read this book from the start when I saw it on the debut author list. The cover is gorgeous and I'm a sucker for mermaid books. I've always loved mermaids. The Little Mermaid used to be one of my favorite movies when I was little(Still love! Ha!) and though the last couple of years I haven't really thought much of mermaids, they've always had a place in my heart. 


I loved the characters. Though I have to admit, Tempest annoyed me a bit throughout the novel. It was more like "I can't believe you did that!" annoyance. But I still loved her. Plus, she knows how to surf! That has been on my list of things to learn how to do before I die. But I'm kind of afraid to even begin to try and surf. I also like how she has more guy friends than girl friends. That's how I've always been. I have my group of girl friends, but sometimes I get along better with guys. You don't really see that much in books, so I was glad to see it.


When Kona showed up, I didn't really like how Tempest instantly got all weird around him, but after finishing the book I realize why. But it still bugged me a little bit. But that's one of the only things that bugged me. I did love Kona though. He's weird, but really cool and I'm totally Team Kona! =D 

One more thing was the deal with Tempest's mother. The way everything happened so suddenly. I wish Tempest would of had a little more time with her, some sort of closure or something. It would of been nice and I know in that situation I would of wanted some sort of closure. (I really want to call my mom and tell her I love her right now, ha! Though we've had some hard times through my teen years!)

I actually kind of liked the evil sea witch in here (Nope, not Ursula, sorry! But that's a good thing.) even though she was so mean and just evil! But all her power intrigued me! Also, the mythology in this book and the different types of species that is half human just like mermaids was a really great add on. Like Kona! (I'm not going to tell you what he is!)

Overall, the writing sucked you in, like all good books do. I can't wait for the sequel. That ending made me want to find out what happens after that! I love all the descriptions used for being underwater, it really made everything that much more believable and I felt like I was a mermaid!

The Body Finder is a very original story. I added it to my list of books to read back in 2009 when I first heard about it before it debuting in 2010. I knew from the summary that it was going to be amazing and knock my socks off. It took me a while to finally get my hands on this from the library to read, and plus all the other books on my to-read list, but I finally got to read it and I am very glad I don't have to wait a year for the sequel because it was released earlier this year. 


I was hooked from the very beginning. The Prologue was intriguing and made me want to know more from the very first page. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! It got me out of my reading slump! I haven't finished a book in a while, since my last review for The Iron King (I posted that review on December 1st!). I don't know why,but I just fell into a reading slump and couldn't get out of it. I was attempting books in series I love, but couldn't get into them. So I picked this up, and bam! 


The title really suits Violet's abilities well. I was really curious about the title and her ability to find the dead. Not only can she find the dead, but they each have a specific "echo". Also, the echo leaves an imprint on whatever killed the body (It can be animal or human.). But it's different, I guess, with those who weren't killed. 


Violet is a very good character, I really liked her. Also, her best friend Jay, who she is totally in love with is amazing. They were my two favorite characters. I can't really think of anything at the moment that bugged me, other than the fact of their feelings for one another which is totally see through from the very beginning. (Sigh! It was so adorable!)


Also, Violet doesn't think negatively about herself like most YA heroines seem to do. Which was a relief because I'm really getting tired of them. And she isn't popular, or a loser. She's somewhere in the middle. She doesn't want to be popular either. Very fresh and added to her character. She also went to the bathroom! Which you hardly EVER see in books. I know this is random, but does it bother y'all when a character doesn't go to the bathroom? I mean, I know it's not necessary to add it into the book, but still. Am I right? 

In different chapters, at the end before the new chapter begins, there is a few pages from the killer's point of view, which I loved! It was mega creepy and just a very great add on! It really added to the story and every time I finished a chapter and saw the killer's point of view I couldn't wait to read it! The mystery in the book is amazing and you don't really know who it is until it is revealed. Which I loved too. There are way too many mystery books out there that you can totally see who the suspect is chapters ahead. 

Overall, I can't wait to read the next one. This book is up high on my faves! The writing flowed well and just was amazing. I don't really know what else to say. Just read it! Soon!

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

I've heard great things about this series. I've seen them around everywhere for a while and the covers are gorgeous. Finally, after seeing the third (And I think final.)book in the series released in April, I decided I HAD to at least read the first book before 2012. And I was able to snag it from the library and I am so glad I did! 

I was sucked in right away, blowing through fifty pages before even knowing it. Though at times I got confused with going back to when she was younger, even though it showed which age and everything at the beginning of the chapter. I wonder if it was just me. It was a little annoying for a little while, but didn't really take away from the story.

Belly is a unique nickname, it really fit her character. She kind of annoyed me at times because she was a bit spoiled, selfish and a little immature (She sometimes felt younger than 15 going on 16.). I really liked Conrad and Jeremiah, they felt the realist to me. I think they were my two top favorite characters. I liked Cam as well, and Steven, but they just seemed kind of...bland to me. If you know what I mean? 

The writing flowed very well, and despite me not having a lot of reading time, I felt like I blew through the story. I can't wait to read the second book! I checked my libraries online catalog as soon as I read the last page, but they don't have a copy at my branch, it's currently being transferred between libraries. Darn! Though I am very tempted to drive to another one to pick it up....

Overall, this would be a GREAT beach read. (And someone DID read it on the beach because there was sand in the plastic cover of the library binding and water damage to the book...)I will definitely be picking this book back up in the future, maybe in the summer. =) Very cute and a fast read. Though there are some sad parts in the end, and I need the sequel as soon as possible to figure out how that ended.

First off, I'd like to say that I didn't like this as much as I loved the first. I can't exactly tell you why, I guess it's just because I liked the plot better in the first book? I did like this one, though.  I really liked it. It seemed like not a lot happened. I really liked Black's add in of the Erkling, it really added a lot in. I was wondering what would happen without her aunt Grace around, though she did appear in this one, just not a lot.

I was hoping to get more Ethan, and I got it. I really like Ethan, but at times I really want her to be with Keane. I like Keane. I also liked Dana a bit more in the sequel than I did in the first book. She's grown up a bit in a short period of time and she was a little less whiny in this one than I thought she was in the first book.

Overall, I can't wait to read the third book. I'll most likely be picking it up as soon as I can from the library. Jenna is a great writer and I want to pick up another one of her series soon. This is definitely a book you want to pick up if you like fae. It's very unique.

 I know, I'm so late in reading a book by the awesome Jackson Pearce. I've been a fan of hers for a while now. I love her Youtube videos! Which, by the way, if you haven't seen them yet, you should. (You can find them here! They are seriously hilarious and you'll get sucked in and want to watch all of them!)But anyway, now that I've finally read one of her books--which is her debut book from 2009--I am even a bigger fan of hers! She didn't disappoint! 

 Honestly, I'll admit, it was a little slow at first. It took me a bit to get into it. That is mostly because of the fact that my last book was an Urban Fantasy. You do get sucked in though. And once you do, you have to keep reading. You wonder what is going to happen next with Viola and Jinn. It's one of those books that seems contemporary, but has a slight paranormal touch to it. Which I LOVED! 

 I really liked Viola. I could really relate to her from when I was in high school. I chose to be invisible, but at the same time I still looked at all the "popular" kids and longed to be in their group. And I really liked Jinn, he was really sweet and genuine and unlike all the other Jinn he actually wanted his "masters" to wish for what they want to be happy, instead of tricking them into wishes.

Overall, it was a pretty fast read. Mostly because the writing flowed so well together, and then a tiny bit due to how the font was. This was a very unique idea, I can't think of any other book with a genie in it. Which is awesome. It really had me thinking about what I'd wish for if I had the chance, and it's hard to pick just three! You want to really think about it and make it perfect! 

I can't wait to pick up another book by her.  Which will be Sister's Red since I checked that out from the library as well. =)

First off, again, this is Meg Cabot. I always know I'm going to like a book by her, because hello, she's awesome. This book didn't disappoint. I mean, I didn't like it AS much as I thought I would. But I still really liked it and I'm looking forward to it's sequel.

When I realized this book was set in Florida, I was ecstatic. I live in Florida myself, but in the upper area of the state. My mother-in-law, however, lives in the Keys, where the story is set. Now I can't wait to go back down and visit her so I can go to the cemetery that Pierce goes to in the book. I didn't realize that Isla Huesos was Key West. I thought it was just some other island that was made up for the novel.

I love the descriptions in this book. She get's the Florida weather right down to the tiniest detail. Especially with the humidity! About it being like soup when you walk out, yes, that is exactly how to describe it. I've always found it hard to describe it, but she has the perfect way. And I'm not going to lie, I will definitely be using that when someone asks me to describe the humidity here.

Since this book was basically the set up for the rest of the trilogy, I didn't get into it right away. It was mostly told in flashbacks. Stuff that have already happened and she was just telling you about it. Giving you the back story. Which I am very thankful for. =) Towards the end I really got into it and that shows that the next book will be loads better.

I love how this is kind of based on the myth of Hades and Persephone. Reading this really makes me want to go back and re-read the myth and go slower this time. I love mythology, so I'm really liking this new YA trend of mythological books. =)

Overall, I really liked this book. You can never go wrong with Meg Cabot. This is very different from the rest of her novels, somewhat a bit darker. If you are a fan of Meg Cabot and/or a fan of Greek mythology, you don't want to miss out on this book.

Ah, Meg Cabot. Oh how I've missed your writing. I haven't read a Meg Cabot book in a while. I'm pretty sure since Insatiable was out. Why?! I always know that I'm going to love a Meg Cabot book, even before I know what the book is about. 'Oh, it's by Meg Cabot? Oh, okay, slide it right down please!'

I haven't read all of her books. But I do plan on it, setting aside the middle grade novels. I just don't do well with middle grade novels. Not sure why. But her books are the ones to read! You can NEVER go wrong with a Meg Cabot book. But anyway, you're here to read what I thought of THIS book. Queen of Babble. 

I loved it. I need to pick up the second book as soon as possible. I didn't have very many issues with this book. It took me about a chapter or two to get into it fully, but of course her writing pulled me right in. There is just something about Meg Cabot's style that keeps you reading, even if the plot isn't dragging you in right away. 


And Lizzie. Sweet, sweet, can't-keep-her-mouth-shut, Lizzie.  I loved her, but gosh. She really bugged me sometimes. I mean, who in the world would fly all the way across the world to spend the summer with a guy who she's only technically been with for three months? I mean, in some cases I would say, "Hell yeah!", but in this case, "Hell, no, no, no, no!" She really quite annoyed me sometimes. I mean, was she really that oblivious at times? I'm really glad she learned in the end. That's what counts! 


And Jean-Luc. Oh, my, my, my! Loved him! I mean, really, what's not to like? Sweet, charming, half-french, rich. Ahhh. Not that it's all about the money, because it definitely isn't. He was one of my favorite characters! Along with Shari and Chaz of course. Oh, and you can't forget Lizzie's Grandma! Even though she plays a VERY minor roll. 

But Andy and Luke's girlfriend, er, can't remember her name right now. You don't wanna know the name I gave her throughout the whole book. I don't really know what to say about them, other than BOO! 

Overall, this was a fun read. Loved mostly everything about it, other than the few things I mentioned. If you love Meg Cabot, or if you've never read a book buy her before, you'll love it. Meg Cabot is a fantastic author! Which is why after finishing this, I started another Meg Cabot book. Abandon, to be exact.

As some of you may know, I started this book right after finishing Perfect. I know I said that I thought Perfect was my favorite so far of the series, but I have found a new one. Unbelievable certainly lives up to its title. I just can't believe everything that happened in the fourth book. I'm still sitting here stunned, and all I'm going to say on that matter is 'A' is revealed in the fourth book. After learning who it was, I went through so many different emotions. Astonishment, victory of having this person on my suspect list, and then annoyance at thinking it was someone entirely different in the end before 'A' is revealed. 


Sara Shepard definitely knows how to throw you off the track.  She gives you clues here and there to make you suspect someone, who may or may not just be the person, but then she steers it toward someone completely different and makes you believe that this person could possibly really be 'A'. But then in the end it's the other person you may have suspected. It's very clever! 


I know a lot of people may think that this is just a girly, fluffy series. But it's not. It's full of mystery and suspense. Even though I'm still a little weirded out by how different, but sometimes how close, the series and books are together, I still love the books and they have become a favorite series of mine. 


In my opinion, I think this one is the most intense of the first four Pretty Little Liar books. In the beginning of this book, I thought I knew what to expect from this one. But I was wrong. I mean, some things I thought were going to happen, happened. But I never thought that maybe 'A' would be revealed, and even though I suspected the person who is revealed as 'A', at the same time I didn't think it could of been this person. 


Overall, this is a great series and I can't wait to continue the series. Even though 'A' is revealed in this book, the pretty little liars aren't being let off that easily just yet. There are more lies and mystery to be revealed. After all, who really killed Ali?

The fifth book in the series is called Wicked. It was released on June 1, 2009.

Wow, I'm not really sure what to say about this book. It's just so weird compared to the TV show. But in a good way, I think. It's starting to get where a lot of things are different in the books than in the TV show (Which always happens, but I can tell why.), but it's still addicting. 

I think I may have liked this one a bit more than the last two. They are getting better. I think I kind of wished now that I had read the books before watching the TV show, because of the fact that I keep getting confused when they describe a certain character and stop for a minute most of the time and go, "What?" because some of the descriptions are different in the TV show. And I keep picturing the actresses that play Aria, Spencer, Emily, Hanna and Alison. Ha! 

I think this is kind of funny. If you ask me who my favorite character is in the TV show, I would have to say Aria or Spencer. Though I like all the characters, but those are my top two favorites of them. But if you asked me the same question, but with the books, I honestly don't know. The characters are a bit more crazy in the books. If that makes sense. 

But anyway, I'm going to stop comparing the TV show and books. They are both great. The writing draws you in and keeps you reading. You can picture everything. At least I can. Normally I would have finished one of these books in a sitting or two in one day, but now I don't have much reading time. But I still can finish pretty quickly because of the writing style. It just flows. 

Overall, this was just as exciting and suspenseful as the last two. Even though I had originally planned to read another library book from my challenge list after finishing this book, I couldn't wait to start the fourth book and dove right in. So get ready for that review next! 

The fourth book in this series is called Unbelievable. It was released on December 1, 2008.
