This book completely--Seriously. COMPLETELY!--blew me away. This is yet another book that I have read this year that I want to immediately go and re-read. How is that possible?! Another 2011 Debut book that was absolutely amazing. I seriously don't even think there was anything that bothered me about this book.

I was hooked from the first page. It doesn't sit there and start out giving you some back story or let you be introduced by the character telling you who she was. Nope. It threw you right in and made you wonder about her ability. I seriously thought one thing about her ability, but then it took a twist and it was something completely different. Though the story was amazing, I was a little worried because I thought it was a certain ability that has shown up a bit. But time travel?! Whoa!

The book starts out as her knowing about her ability--which I am VERY happy about. Most books now days make them figure it out--but she doesn't know much about it, or why she does it. Her brother has tried so many different people who he finds and thinks may know what to tell them about Emerson's ability, but he has failed. But then he finds Michael. And wow. Just wow. *swoon*

All the characters in this book is so full of personality and it truly amazed me. I liked every character. Even the bad guys! Okay, except for Ava. I wanted to slap her so bad. I wish Emerson would have. I would have laughed SO hard at that. By the way, have I mentioned that Emerson knows karate?! She's totally kick-ass!

Overall, read this book. It's amazing. I want to go back right now and re-read it just thinking about it. I don't know what else to say other than I NEED--Yes. NEED.-- the sequel, Timepiece, RIGHT NOW.

The second book in this series is called Timepiece. It is set to be released on June 12th, 2012.

Unaware of the dark path she is walking, Grace begins to give into the wolf inside of her - not realizing that an enemy has returned and a deadly trap is about to be sprung. 

Oh my! When I first started this, I didn't think I would like it as good as the first one. I mean, books are rarely as good as their prequel. But wow! By the middle of the book I was hooked back into the story and couldn't put it down, it was nearly as enthralling as the first. 


Some things are a lot different in this book, that is because a lot has changed, of course, and the characters have grown. I think the main person who has grown and changed is Grace. I mean wow, she's grown a lot. She really knows how to take care of herself, mostly. 


I really liked the new character Talbot in the beginning, though I knew all along that he was a bit suspicious. But that is all I'm going to say, because I don't want to spoil anything. 


Overall, it was awesome. Bree is a great writer and I can't wait to read the next book in the series! 


The cover is very pretty, just like the first one. I love the black backgrounds and the pretty colorful fabric on the front covering the girls. It's simple, yet beautiful. 

The third book in the series is called The Savage Grace. It's expected release date is March 13th, 2012. My review of The Dark Divine.

First Paragraph: The day they came to tell me, I was in one of the gardens with Kiernan, trying to decipher a three-hundred-year-old map of the palace grounds. We were sitting on a stone bench, the delicate roll of fabric lying between us. Instead of looking toward the gardens, however, we faced the gray wall that seperated the northernmost edge of the palace grounds from the streets of Vivaskari.

After reading the summary for this book so many months ago, I was dying to read it. I requested it for my library and when they got it in I put it on hold to make sure I'd get to read it. When I finally got my hands on it I started reading it and was hooked from the start. It has definitely lived up to my expectations. Though when I first started reading it, I thought if might become a bit predictable, but it didn't! I was never able to figure out what was going to happen next. 

Sinda changes so much from the beginning of the novel. She has lived her whole live believing she was the princess named Nalia, but then she finds out her real name is Sinda and is cast away from the palace and has to learn who she is all over again. But this time, she finds out who she really is. After feeling as though she never fit in her whole life. 

Sinda annoyed me at some points, but she was a great main character and she really grew on me. I really loved Kiernan, I wanted him and Sinda to get together throughout the whole book! He is one of those guys that you find in books that you wish real guys would be like. Anyone know what I mean? 


I don't really know what else to say about this book, sadly. I'm sorry this isn't much of a review. All I can really say was I loved it and hope to read it again someday. :) 


I recommend this to anyone who would love a fun, light read with a bit of mystery.

First Paragraph: "Grace! You have got to see the new guy." April bounded up to be in the junior hallway. Sometimes she reminded me of the cocker spaniel I used to own—she trembled in excitement over just about anything. 

I've seen this book around the blog-o-sphere a bit and have heard great things about it, so when I went to the library on Monday I saw it and had to get it. All the people who have said this book is great and a refreshing new take on werewolves were absolutely right. Despain had a brilliant way of throwing in mythology of the Loup Garou (and other forms of the werewolf) into our every day world without making it seem like it was mythology and fantasy. It had just the right amount of each in it to make it a wonderful and intriguing story. 


She also has the type of writing that you fly through the pages thinking you are not as far in as you think. Which I absolutely love in a novel! I don't get this feeling very often with a new series. Usually it only starts happening once I've read a series for a little while.


I loved Grace, the main character. She annoyed me at times, but she was a great character. I love how they made her family seem like the perfect family of a pastor, but then as you read on you see that they have the same troubles as any other family has. Grace was very selfless and tried to be what everyone would expect from a preacher's daughter, and more. But she still struggled with trying to be the person she wanted to be, and not what everyone expected from her.


This debut novel was fantastic and I can't wait to read the sequel. With the ending the way it was, I'd completely forgot there was a sequel just released last December. It didn't leave any cliff hangers and made you think it was the end of the story. Can't wait to read the Lost Saint!


I recommend this to all wolf and shifter lovers.
